Mayor Mitch Landrieu Pitches New Orleans As New Home Of “Late Show”
Stephen Colbert will be taking over as host of the Late Show on CBS in 2015 when David Letterman retires. There has been talk of where Colbert will have the show broadcast. Since The Colbert Report is shot in New York, it seems like the Late Show will stay in the city, but other cities are bidding to have it moved. One city that put in a bid is New Orleans. Mayor Mitch Landrieu really wants the Late Show to be broadcast from the Crescent City. Landrieu on Thursday released a letter he wrote to the president of CBS, touting New Orleans as a great fit for the young-adult audience the networks covet. He also noted the state's generous tax credits for movie and television production.
