56-year-old Canadian Wilf Lloyd is very lucky to be alive today. While elk hunting in the forests of British Columbia, he was attacked by a huge grizzly bear. Not only was Lloyd attacked and injured by the bear, but he was also shot by his hunting partner.

The reason he was shot is because his hunting partner, who is his son-in-law, was shooting at the bear to scare it away. He accidentally shot Lloyd in the process but did scare the bear off. If he wouldn't have shot at the bear, Lloyd would have been killed by the huge grizzly.

He opened fire on the bear and shot Lloyd twice before hitting the bear. David Karn, the Ministry of Environment spokesman had this to say about the incident:

The man was saved because during the attack, the victim's hunting partner shot at the bear, killing the bear. The bear is a grizzly bear boar and it is believed at this time to be the only bear involved.

Lloyd was brought out of the forest by ATV, then air-lifted by helicopter to an emergency room in Calgary, Alberta and is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries.
