Louisiana Ticket Wins $10,000 – Mega Millions
A ticket for the multi-state lottery game Mega Millions that was sold in Louisiana has been revealed as a major prize winner in the games December 23rd drawing. Interest from lottery players in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, New Orleans, and Shreveport has been on the increase over the past several weeks as the game's jackpot has grown beyond half of a billion dollars.
In fact, last night's drawing (December 23rd) was for a top prize of $510,000,000. If you missed the drawing, here's the video.
The numbers revealed in the December 23, 2022 Mega Millions drawing as reported by the Mega Millions website were:

The Louisiana Lottery is reporting one ticket sold in the state matched four of the five white balls and the Mega Ball. That ticket is worth $10,000. That one wasn't the only big winner in the state but by far the largest single prize. The Lottery website tells us that three tickets sold in Louisiana were worth $2,000 this morning while another 10 sold in the state were worth $500.
Another batch of sizeable prize winners include six tickets that are now worth $800 and another eight tickets that can lay claim to a prize of $200. There were several hundred tickets sold in Louisiana that have a prize of $10 or more, so if you played make sure you check your ticket.
By the way the $10,000 winner was sold in Slidell at a Circle K on Airport Road. If that's where you usually buy your lottery tickets the by all means check those numbers.
For Powerball players there will be a Christmas Eve drawing for that multi-state game. The Powerball top prize for tonight's drawing is estimated to be $186,000,000. There will also be drawing in the in-state games too The Lotto jackpot is $2.95 million and Easy 5 boasts a top prize of $140,000.
The next Mega Millions drawing will be Tuesday night. Game officials have estimated that when they drop the ping pong balls on December 27th a single ticket that matches the necessary numbers could be worth $565 million if the winner chose the annuity route or a cash prize of $293.6 million. And of course Uncle Sam would still need to take his cut as well as the state. But still, not a bad after Christmas gift if you ask me.
