Tuesday night's Mega Millions lottery drawing has produced a $10,000 winner from a ticket that was sold in Louisiana. The big win continues Louisiana's almost uninterrupted string of big lottery wins over the past several months. Granted, lottery players in the state haven't hit the big jackpots but we've certainly had our share of $10,000, $30,000, $50,000, and even $1,000,000 winners over the summer months.

Last night's drawing in the Mega Millions game was for an estimated top prize of $116 million. There was no single ticket sold throughout the country that matched all the numbers needed to take home that top prize. However, a ticket sold in Ohio matched the five white ball numbers to lay claim to a prize of $1,000,000.

While the top prize won by a Louisiana sold ticket was $10,000 there were several hundred other tickets sold in the state that earned the player their money back and more. In fact, two tickets sold in Louisiana for last night's drawing are worth $500 and another single ticket is worth $1,000.

If you didn't see the drawing here it is:

The numbers that were drawn for August 23, 2022, were:

03   05   47   48   67   Mega Ball 7  Megaplier x2

Those numbers are courtesy of the Mega Millions website.

The Louisiana Lottery is reporting that the $10,000 winner sold in Louisiana was sold in Shreveport. That ticket was purchased at G Max on Mansfield Drive. The ticket purchaser matched four of the white balls and the Mega Ball. They did not opt-in for the Megaplier option.

The next Mega Millions drawing will be on Friday night. The estimated top prize will be $135 million dollars. Meanwhile, tonight the Powerball game will take the spotlight. The estimated top prize in that drawing will be a cool $100 million. The drawing time is set for 9:59 Louisiana time. Ticket sales must cease at least one hour before the drawing and all ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age.
