Sales taxes would be able to be collected by the state on tickets, concessions, and even merchandise during performances at venues like the Cajundome, Superdome, and Tiger Stadium.

The sales tax targets any publicly owned stadium.

There is an exemption for sporting events like Saints games, and NCAA sporting events. However, any one-off show, or concert would be hit with the sales tax.

So, say you buy an officially licensed Saints jersey, or beer at a Saints game, there would be an exemption there. But if you go to see Guns N roses, you would pay taxes on the tickets, and t-shirt or merchandise you buy.

And get this...it's not even going to count toward the giant $940 million budget hole. It's in reference to Governor John Bel Edwards asking legislators to clean up tax exemptions and tax breaks that might be weighing down the state's budget.
