Lafayette General will begin greeting newborns with cajun and creole lullabies!

Making sure to put a lil Cajun culture in their bones from the start!

The Lafayette General Foundation and Louisiana Folk Roots teamed up to create "Je M'endors", which literally translates to "I fall asleep". It is a new album of Cajun and Creole lullabies sung in French and performed by Zachary Richard, Steve Riley, Terrence Simien, Curley Taylor and more.

The album features artists interpretations of old classics, as well as originals, some of which were written just for this project.

The album will be given as a gift to the first 1,000 babies born starting next week.

The album was released on iTunes on Wednesday if you'd like to purchase it to play for your little ones.
