'Lady of the Gulf' Memorial for Seacor Crew Members Unveiled

In March of 2021, Six men were rescued, 13 men died, and seven crew members were never found in the Seacor Power disaster off of Port Fourchon in the Gulf of Mexico. Now, a statue has been unveiled memorializing these men.

'Lady Of The Gulf Statue' Seacor Memorial In Port Fourchon

Yesterday (04/13/22) the "Lady of the Gulf" memorial was unveiled to a crowd of family and friends in Port Fourchon connected to the crew members involved in the Seacor Power disaster of 2021.

For families whose loved ones still haven't been found, the memorial serves as a final resting place.

Many families are still very much still in the process of grieving. The newly erected "Lady of the Gulf" memorial aims to also show these families that their communities are still very much here to support them.

Hopefully, this feeling of community support can help families with their grieving.

Branson Williams, son of crew member Ernest Williams, Jr.tells KATC "It gives us a lot of comfort knowing the community is showing so much support and love toward the victims. That's really good. That we get to bond with the other families of the tragedy."
