Kings of Leon guitarist Matthew Followill says the band were furious when they discovered adverts looking for fans with "physical deformities" or who looked "a little slow" to appear in a promo video.

Last month their casting company placed notices asking for “characters with scars, pockmarked skin or physical abnormalities” to be paid $300 a day for working as extras in the clip for current single Pyro.

Followill says the band knew nothing about the adverts – and as soon as they found out they swung into action.

He says: “We were really embarrassed about it, but we had nothing to do with it.

“They put it out, not us As soon as we read it we were humiliated and phoned the managers. We were furious.”
