June 6 Tropical Storm Cristobal Updates

The 4 pm Tropical Storm Advisory has been issued for Tropical Storm Cristobal and there are a few warnings in effect for parts of Acadiana.

A Tropical Storm WARNING is in effect for Iberia, lower/upper St. Martin, Vermilion, and St. Mary parishes. This means that tropical storm conditions are likely within the next 36 hours

From the KATC Weather Lab -

"As of 4pm Sunday, Cristobal was sporting 50 mph sustained winds, primarily in it's eastern semi-circle, and was moving northward at 12mph. The brunt of this tropical storm should primarily be east and eventually north of Acadiana, but nonetheless our area is in store for some dynamic winds and occasional tropical squalls developing into Sunday afternoon.

Acadiana can expect winds to steadily increase as the day wears on Sunday with 15-25 mph winds from the northeast gradually increasing to 20-30 mph or more into Sunday night and at least, into early Monday."
