Ronald Gasser, the man that authorities say shot and killed former NFL player Joe McKnight has been indicted on a greater charge.

Gasser,55, allegedly shot and killed McKnight after an apparent road rage incident in Terrytown, a suburb of New Orleans.

He was originally arrested four days after the shooting on a manslaughter charge. From NOLA.com:

"Subsequent to that arrest, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office and the Jefferson Parish District Attorney's Office continued working together in a collaborative effort to develop additional evidence regarding the case," a release from District Attorney Paul Connick states.

Gasser's bond has been raised to $750,000 after his indictment. If convicted, he faces a life sentence without the possibility of parole, probation or suspended sentence.
