Jason Newsted Returns With Video For New Song ‘Soldierhead’ [Video]

A few weeks ago, former long time Metallica bassist Jason Newsted announced that he is back in the metal scene and that he will be releasing new material. Well, he is back, with a statement to make! His new band is called 'Newsted' (appropriately title of course) and his new EP, called 'The Metal EP' is available now. Here is the first video of his new band for the song 'Soldierhead'.

Newsted features Jason on vocals/bass, Jessie Farnsworth on guitar and Jesus Mendez, Jr. on drums. Jason Newsted recently told noisecreep.com that "Soldierhead" is a tribute to the many men and women of the military Newsted has had the pleasure of meeting throughout his career.

We played 40 to 50 countries when I was in Metallica, and I learned a lot about how the world really is. We live like kings and queens in America, getting whatever we want 24 hours a day. It's just not like that in other countries. These soldiers are out there risking their lives so that we can have the freedoms we do in America. I just want all of them to know how appreciative we are of them and for what they do for us.
