Another Lafayette Burger King Closes Its Doors, Leaves Message for Customers
The Burger King located off the Evangeline Thruway at 312 Jefferson Blvd, near Downtown Lafayette, has closed down. This follows the recent closure of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus Burger King location. As of December 3, the Jefferson Blvd outlet was observed to be completely dark, with all its signage removed.
A sign placed in the window of the restaurant stated: "CLOSED - we would like to thank all of you for the many years of support. we hope you can come to see us at 1726 University or a location near you!!!!" This message, expressing gratitude to its customers, suggests visiting another nearby Burger King at 1726 University Avenue.
The sudden closure of this location, which has been part of the Lafayette community for years, was not preceded by any official announcements. The reason behind its closure remains unclear, as neither Burger King's corporate office nor the local franchisee has released a statement explaining the decision.
The departure of this Lafayette Burger King marks another change in the local fast-food scene, following closely on the heels of the UL Lafayette campus outlet shut down.
As of now, there is no information regarding what might happen to the now-vacant building on Jefferson Blvd. We'll be sure to update this story with further details about the closure and any future developments for this location.
