
Louisiana Teen Arrested After Baby Found Dead in Tote Bag
DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (KMDL-FM) - The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office is reporting the arrest of a 14-year-old girl after a deceased newborn infant was found inside of a tote bag at a Denham Springs, Louisiana residence.

Our Lady of the Lake staffers alerted authorities after a young girl seeking treatment revealed she had just given birth at her house. After receiving the call from Our Lady of the Lake, officers went to the teen girl's residence where they allegedly found a deceased newborn infant inside a tote bag at the home.

EMS located the bag and found the infant dead with extensive neck injuries. An autopsy later confirmed the death was a homicide.

First responders report the infant was allegedly full-term, was born alive, and then tragically murdered shortly after birth.
Authorities believe the teen girl was able to hide her pregnancy from her family.
She now faces charges of first degree murder, obstruction of justice, and failure to seek assistance.
The teen has been booked into the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center.

Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard tells WAFB "As you can imagine, this has been a difficult case for all first responders involved. Please keep them and the family in your thoughts as this very sensitive investigation continues."
