According to a 2022 study done by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the national average of marijuana use by residents 12 years of age or older that had used marijuana in the past month when polled was 14.1%.
Louisiana averaged quite a bit higher coming in at 18.5%.

We used the number of marijuana arrests as a proxy for weed consumption. While this is not a perfect measure, it is a reliable indicator of weed use in the absence of other data sources."
