Krewe Des Chiens Dog Parade in Lafayette, Louisiana Moves Up Time Due to Weather
Lafayette's Krewe Des Chien Mardi Gras dog parade, one of the area's favorites, will be getting an earlier start to hopefully beat the rain.
Because of the expected stormy weather, the parade scheduled for Saturday, February 3 has been moved from noon to 10:00 am, according to organizers.
You may recall that earlier in the week, the Scott Mardi Gras Parade moved its start time from 11:00 am to 10:00 am, also due to the expected weather.
There have been a multitude of Mardi Gras parades across the state that have to make changes on Saturday due to the heavy line of showers expected to sweep across Louisiana.
Changes in Baton Rouge
The Krewe of Orion Parade in Baton Rouge, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been moved to 6:30 pm on Sunday.
The Krewe of Denham Springs has moved their start time on Saturday from 3:00 pm to 11:00 am.
New Orleans Area Parade Moves
Uptown's Legion of Mars and Krewe of Pontchartrain are moving to earlier in the day (although those times have not been released yet).
Covington's Krewe of Olympia pushed their roll time up an hour and will now start at 5:00 pm on Saturday, Feb. 3.
Metairie's Krewe of MadHatters decided to reschedule their parade from Saturday, Feb. 3 to Sunday, Feb. 4 due to the rain.
There are several other New Orleans Mardi Gras parades scheduled for this weekend that are still contemplating moves.
