Public Power Lineworkers from across the country converged in the parking lot of Cajun Field in Lafayette, Louisiana last weekend and now we have a look at what went down as many competed.

For weeks so many people in Lafayette were asking what was with all the power poles near Cajun Field, and it was the setting for the competition that happened last Saturday.

Llinweowrkers from across the United States competed in various skills and yes that included climbing the power poles, which is slowly becoming obsolete in the industry as technology improves.

If you were unable to attend this great event that was put on and hosted by Lafayette Utilities Systems, you can see a recap here.

We hope that all of the lineworkers who visited Acadiana enjoyed their time here and we hope that they returned home with some great stories and experiences.

As we approach another hurricane season, let's all take a minute to recognize how important lineworkers are in our country, and if those who visited have to return, we hope that they feel at home if they ever have to return to Acadiana.

Here's a look at the action from Cajun Field this past Saturday morning.

Here are more photos from the event shared on social media.
