Many in south Louisiana are excited about the upcoming Crawfish Festival in Breaux Bridge and now local police are outlining some safety measures.

The Breaux Bridge Police Department announced on social media that golf carts will not be permitted on sidewalks or streets during the festival.

Hence, you cannot use a golf cart to arrive at the gate of the festival.

In addition to that the BBPD has announced that a clear bag policy will be enforced upon entering the fairgrounds.

In their social media post, the police department said, "To maintain a secure environment, ONLY clear bags will be permitted inside the festival grounds. Please leave any non-transparent bags or backpacks at home or in your vehicle."

The BBPD hopes to make the Crawfish Festival a safe environment for all and they ask for your cooperation.

The Crawfish Festival in Breaux Bridge happens May 5 - 7 with live music and more happening throughout the weekend.
