There's been so much speculation about another Ghostbusters movie. Well, an announcement was made earlier today (10/8) that we are indeed getting one.

Dan Aykroyd has been trying to get Ghostbusters 3 off the ground for YEARS. Bill Murray would sometimes comment on it, but mostly wanted nothing to do with it. Harold Ramis passed away earlier this year, tossing yet another kink in the chain. Even after that, Aykroyd still wanted to go ahead with it.

The announcement that was made actually had no mention of Dan Aykroyd, or any of the other former Ghostbusters.

Paul Feig directed Bridesmaids and The Heat. He'll be taking the reigns on the new take on Ghostbusters. Katie Dippold, who wrote The Heat, will be doing the writing for it. Obviously it will have a female lead cast.

Buzzfeed claimed that this will be a reboot.
