Spanish archeologists working in Egypt believe they may have found the earliest known image of Jesus Christ. The image is drawn on a wall in a tomb believed to be the final resting place of a scribe and several priests.

The archeologists are working to translate the writing around the image to see who the person in the image really is.

The image is described by Dr. Josep Padró, Emeritus Professor at the University of Barcelona, as “a young man with curly hair, dressed in a short tunic and with his hand raised as if giving a blessing,” and added, “We could be dealing with a very early image of Jesus Christ.”

The image is from the sixth or seventh century.

Do you think this is the earliest image of Jesus?
