An ordinance is going before the Lafayette City-Council on May 5th which will outlaw smoking of cigarettes and e-cigarettes in Lafayette bars and clubs.

From KATC.com:

The Advertiser reports Council Chairman Kenneth Boudreaux has been working with Grammy-winning entertainer Chubby Carrier and Tobacco-Free Living to draft an ordinance for the city of Lafayette and unincorporated parts of the parish.

If approved, the ordinance would ban the smoking of tobacco products plus electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes in bars and clubs.

The New Orleans City Council in January voted to ban smoking in clubs and bars.
