Helmet Announce ‘Betty’ Anniversary Shows For U.S.
Alternative metal pioneers Helmet have announced a handful of U.S. dates to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their highly acclaimed third studio album, 'Betty.'
The boys from New York City recently wrapped up their 'Betty' run in Europe, and answering their stateside fans' requests, are planning nine shows in February to play the record front to back. "We've put together a handful of 'Betty' U.S. shows for 2015," the band said on Facebook. "Playing the album start to finish, followed by an entire second set. No openers, just Helmet." Check out the full schedule below.
'Betty' peaked at No. 45 on the Billboard 200 charts and found Helmet experimenting with different sounds than what was found on their previous albums, 1990's 'Strap It On' and 1992's 'Meantime.' The LP's lead single, 'Milquetoast,' quickly turned into a fan-favorite at shows and was the only track to chart, hitting No. 39 on the Mainstream Rock charts.
Tickets for the 2015 U.S. 'Betty' shows go on sale this Friday (Nov. 21). You can get details at Helmet's official website here.
