Four More Louisiana Bed Bath & Beyond Stores to Close in 2023
Bed Bath & Beyond will be closing four more of its Louisiana stores in 2023, bringing the total to six closures in the state by the end of the year.
The additional stores closing in the Bayou State will include locations in Mandeville, Lake Charles, Houma, and Monroe. That's added to the previously announced closures coming to the Bossier City and Alexandria stores.
All total, Bed Bath & Beyond said it plans to close nearly 150 of its "lower-producing" stores as it continues to reorganize its finances.
The company said the new closures build on the previously announced shutdowns of about 200 Bed Bath & Beyond stores, including some buybuy Baby locations along with the closure of 50 standalone Harmon stores in the United States.
Bed Bath & Beyond says it plans to shut down the Harmon brand entirely.
So, all total, Bed Bath & Beyond will have closed 400 stores in the past year or so -- nearly half of its brick-and-mortar footprint.
The company is expected to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy soon.
Thankfully, fans of the brand in Acadiana still have the location on Ambassador Caffery in Lafayette...for now.
The other remaining Louisiana stores are in Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, and Metairie.
