UPDATE:  Lafayette Regional Airport officials have decided this hour to close the Lafayette Regional airport to all traffic today. Please read below on advice about what to do if you had a ticket to fly out of Lafayette today.

With a mix of sleet, ice and some snow, the roadways in Acadiana have become treacherous, but this also means likely cancelations for some flights.

The best thing to do if you were planning on flying today is to check the website for your airline. There have been several cancelations that have already been announced.

If you fly Delta to get where you are going, you can click here to find out any information that Delta may have about your flight. Delta also offers information via their Help Center, and you can also message them. If you prefer to call Delta Airlines, there number is 800-221-1212. There are also other numbers listed for things like international flights, and you can get that information by clicking here.

Officials with Lafayette Regional Airport say not to call them. The best advice is to contact the airline that you are flying in order to find out what your next step is.
