Acadiana, Baton Rouge and New Orleans are under a Flash Flood Watch through Wednesday as Tropical Storm Beta is expected to bring heavy rains to south Louisiana.

Tropical Storm Beta is expected to make landfall on Central Texas late Monday evening.  A Tropical Storm Warning has been posted from Port Aransas, Texas to Morgan City, Louisiana.

A band of heavy rains will be coming into Louisiana Monday through Wednesday. The National Weather Service is expecting 3 to 5 inches of rain for Louisiana and Texas over the next few days. The heaviest rainfall will occur Tuesday and Tuesday evening. Flooding has already been reported in some areas of Lousiana.

Tropical Storm Beta is moving west-northwest with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph with the heaviest rain embedded on the east quadrant (the Louisiana side) of the storm

The National Weather Service has also issued a Coastal Flood Warning for coastal Acadiana.

The National Hurricane Center is keeping an eye on Tropical Depression Wilfred currently over the warm open waters of the Atlantic. Wilfred is still too far away from the U.S. to accurately predict landfall, however,  present models have southern Florida in its path.
