In a segment called 'Kyle's Kritters' on Denver's NBC affiliate KUSA, anchorwoman Kyle Dyer was petting an Argentine Mastiff who was recently rescued from the ice. The mastiff, who's name is Gladiator Maximus (I'm taking he is named after the Russell Crowe character from Gladiator), bit Dyer on the face as she was petting him. Video after the jump.

She was then rushed to a nearby Denver hospital and had to have facial reconstructive surgery. She is okay and the doctor's say that the surgery was a success. The dog's owner, Michael Robinson, was cited for a leash-law violation.
