Dana White: Arrest Warrant Out For Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor showed up at the UFC Media Day for UFC 223. He wasn't happy.
UFC President Dana White announced that McGregor would be stripped of his Lightweight belt, and the winner of the fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Max Holloway would be crowned the champion of that division.
McGregor won the title in November of 2016 and hasn't defended it at all, instead taking the payout for the Mayweather boxing match in August of 2017.
He took to Twitter to air his grievances, but that obviously didn't satisfy his anger.
When he arrived, he looked like a man on a mission.
Numerous reports from people in attendance are that McGregor had altercations with some fighters and THEN things escalated.
As you'll see in the video below, McGregor tries to throw a guard rail at a van, as he's shouting for someone to get out. The van reportedly had Khabib and some of his team in it. He also threw several other objects at the van. [This particular video is NSFW]
Here's is a newer alternate angle:
Whether this has anything to do with Khabib's altercation with a McGregor teammate, Artem Lobov, earlier this week is unknown.
McGregor left in a hurry as he hopped in a waiting van, departing the scene.
White has updated everyone on the ruckus, and said that a warrant has been issued for McGregor's arrest, and that his plane can't leave New York.
Obviously, White isn't happy with the latest reaction from McGregor stating that, "this was a real bad career move for him."
Now, all of that being said, is this just the GIANT setup to his return to the UFC? I'm sure he's going to fight the winner of Khabib and Holloway, which happens this Saturday (4/7).
