You may have noticed a few months back, camera men following Lafayette's police department. That's because the show 'Cops' came to town! 'Cops' will show tonight on Fox at 7pm. Be sure to tune in or at the very least DVR the show. See if you know anyone on the show! Producer Zach Ragsdale says he saw things he's never seen before while filming 'Cops'!

He said cameras filmed an alleged domestic disturbance where a male suspect challenged officers saying, "Bring it on."

"In all my years I haven't seen a person say 'bring it on' to an officer," Ragsdale said.

Ragsdale said those types of disturbances are considered one of the most dangerous calls officers can go on,  but camera crews put the danger aside to film what he calls a character-driven show.

"You don't think of the danger," Ragsdale said. "Part of it is the stories are always about the characters."

Ragsdale said the episode will feature both criminal and police characters, telling their stories from each side of the law.

"Most people don't realize officers are people too," Ragsdale said.

When asked about the human element of the show, and the interactions between officers and camera crews, Ragsdale said the long hours of filming forms a familiarity between the two that lets each officer's personality come out.

"They worked together eight hours a day, five days a week," Ragsdale said.

I can't wait!!!! Once again, tonight at 7pm on Fox! You can read the whole article from The Daily Advertiser
