Confessed child killer, Phillip DeSelle, was released from prison earlier this year. He moved to Ville Platte after his release, but relocated to Alexandria where he was jailed this afternoon.

He was arrested on a parole violation because his living plan was no longer approved.

DeSelle, 65, was convicted in the 1990 murder of 11-year-old Averie Grace Evans in Natchitoches. He served 24 years of a 50 year sentence.

DeSelle must wear a GPS monitor during his supervised parole, which doesn't end until 2040. He must register with the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office because the state has classified him as a child predator.

DeSelle arrived in Alexandria on Thursday, registered with the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office this morning, and was arrested this afternoon.
