Carencro Fire Fighter and His Family Lost Their Home in a Fire
The Carencro Fire Department announced on social media that one of their own has lost his home in a fire. This just goes to show you that even firefighters can be the victim of a fire. While many were celebrating the 4th of July, Firefighter Dayne Leger and his family lost everything in a fire. The fire happened Saturday afternoon. Luckily, the family was not home at the time of the fire, according to Chief David Mouton. They had just left 20 minutes before it went up in flames.
Dayne Leger has two daughters. They are sizes 6 to 6X and 4T. If you would like to donate gift cards or items, you can drop them off at Station 31 at 5201 N. University or Station 32 at 400 Hector Connoly Rd. You can also make a donation to a GoFundMe that has been set up for the family by clicking here.
There is an ongoing investigation but it appears to be an accident, according to KATC.
I’m sure Leger will never respond to the fire the same now that he has experienced what it is like to be on the other side. I’m sure it will be much more emotional for him when responding to a fire.
