A report from US Weekly confirms that actor Burt Reynolds has died at age 82.

According to the report, Reynolds died of a heart attack this morning at a Florida hospital. He was surrounded by family when he passed.

Reynolds was a superstar on both the movie screen and the television screen, known most for his classics like "Boogie Nights," "Smokey and the Bandit," "Deliverance," "Gunsmoke," and "Cannonball Run." Burt was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actor for his role in "Boogie Nights" in 1997.

He won a Golden Globe that year as well.

Before becoming a star in Hollywood, Reynolds was a star on the field as well, playing football for Florida State.

The actor underwent heart surgery in 2010 and at the time his manager told CNN Reynolds "has a great motor with brand new pipes."

Reynolds was 82 years old.

He's survived by his son.
