Baton Rouge Mother Says Jesus Told Her To Kill Her Son

A Baton Rouge woman is in jail for trying to kill her 8-year-old son by slitting his throat. She claims that Jesus told her to do it.

Gloria Ross, 40, just before 7 am, walked up to her 8-year-old son and said she was sorry. She then grabbed a serrated knife, and began cutting his throat in front of her daughter.

Cpl. L’Jean McKneely described the incident.

“Grabbed him around the neck and started to cut him at his throat,” said McKneely. “He received a 2 and a half inch laceration to his throat.”

The victim as well as two of Ross' other children were able to escape, and call police. The victim was rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

When the police questioned Ross, she said that Jesus told her to kill her son.

She is charged with attempted first degree murder, and second degree cruelty to a juvenile with a bond set at $200,000.

Ross has had psychological issues in the past.
