The news was broken via Twitter by NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero and you can see his Tweet here @TomPelissero
The news follows Brown's retirement announcement on Twitter, although most NFL fans believe he will end up on another team's roster at some point.
Brown was released from the Patriots last September after being with the team for only 11 days. A civil lawsuit was placed against him by former LSU gymnast, Britney Taylor, accusing Brown of sexually assaulting her on three separate occasions. Brown denied the allegations.
Brown worked out for the Saints at the end of last year, which got a lot of fans really excited, although he did not end up on the New Orleans roster.
There is no official word on what the reason for the suspension is. This story is still developing and will be updated when more information is made available.
