While on patrol around 5:30 p.m. Monday, (Bossier) parish police jury Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit officer William Mott spotted the critter approaching the shoulder of the highway and called for assistance

According to a post from BBPJ on Facebook, the reptile was 11 feet long and definitely would have done some serious damage.

Sadly, the alligator was euthanized due to its size and the "dangers associated with attempting to capture it alive," this according to the Shreveport Times.

If you have any friends or relatives in that area of North Louisiana, you should probably shoot them a message to keep an eye open for any of that gator's family members.
