You Better Run, Pray, and Hide in Three New ‘Alien: Covenant’ TV Spots
Xenomorphs aren’t the most welcoming neighbors. They’re not going to leave a basket of freshly baked cookies on your porch or invite you to the weekend barbecue; they’re going to skip right ahead to eating you for the barbecue. Too bad the crew of the Covenant thought otherwise when they landed on a new alien-infested planet in Ridley Scott’s latest.
Three new TV spots for Alien: Covenant dropped during The Walking Dead finale on Sunday night. The first finds the crew of the titular colony ship all smiles as they embark on “the first ever large-scale colonization mission.” What starts off as a majestic adventure quickly turns into a nightmare when Billy Crudup stumbles upon a nasty creature. The suspenseful teaser is aptly titled “Run,” and the two other TV spots have similar warnings: “Pray” and “Hide.”
In “Pray” we get a few glimpses at the new Xenomorphs of the Prometheus sequel. One charges at Katherine Waterston in the corridor of the ship, another attacks a crew member in a grassy field.
If communion with the divine doesn’t help, hiding is probably the next best choice, unless the Xenomorphs are avid Hide and Seekers.
The latest Alien prequel finds the crew of a colony ship discovering what they think is an uncharted paradise, but it’s actually something much more sinister. Michael Fassbender returns as the new android Walter, while the rest of the crew includes Waterston’s Daniels, Crudup’s Christopher Oram, and Danny McBride’s Tennessee. The rest of the cast features Amy Seimetz, James Franco, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Jussie Smollett, and Callie Hernandez. Alien: Covenant hits theaters May 10.
