A 31-year old equine veterinarian from Acadiana is dead this morning after being murdered while visiting her parents in Kentucky. Emily Champion, who worked as a equine veterinarian at Baronne Equine Veterinary Clinic in Sunset and as a track veterinarian at Delta downs in Vinton, was found shot to death along with her parents 62-year-old Lindsey Champion and 60-year-old Joy A. Champion.

Kentucky said a fourth person also found shot to death also. 22-year-old Vito Y. Riservato, is suspected of shooting the Champion family. The incident happened at the Champion's home in Cadiz, which is roughly 40 miles northwest of Clarksville, Tennessee.

As of right now, the motive is still under investigation and police are working on figuring out the connection between Riservato and the Champion family. Riservato is the suspect and police believe that he knew the family only briefly before the murders.
