Acadiana Teen Dies After Tree Falls On Car

A 17-year-old girl has died after a tree fell on the car in which she was sitting.

A 17-year-old girl is dead Tuesday afternoon after a tree fell on her vehicle she was sitting in while at her home on Prayer House Road, Opelousas Police Chief Donald Thompson said.

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating and deputies are at the home on 1955 Prayer House Road, Lt. Clay Higgins with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office said.

Her identity has not been released.
