On May 6th, Acadiana Animal Aid's van that was carrying 36 dogs to a better life, was involved in a serious accident. They're in need of a new van to save more furry friends, and you can help!

Here's the story:

On the night of May 6th, Acadiana Animal Aid's van was loaded with 36 dogs on the road to a better life when they were involved in a serious accident resulting in the van rolling and ultimately being totaled. Luckily, and due in no small part to the rescue workers and good samaritans that stopped to help, our 2 staff members and 34 of our dogs survived. While we mourned the lives lost and prayed for the missing we were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support we received. With the help of the Hager family carrying all of our animals to safety, the amazing staff and volunteers of P.E.T.S. Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic in Wichita Falls that not only housed and cared for our 4 legged animals but our 2 legged rescue family as well, to the Humane Society of Pikes Peak who quickly stepped in to arrange transport for all of the animals to their final destination.

Our Transport Program is our largest asset in helping us to save the lives of so many animals in need. Last year we transported over 1,500 animals and we were on track to saving even more lives this year. Although AAA maintained insurance on the van, it is unlikely that we will be able to recover the value needed to purchase a new van in the immediate future without your help. The loss of our van, in addition to the many unexpected associated expenses, will dramatically impact the number of animals we are able to save.

Our little Cajun babies have found forever families from Louisiana to Colorado, Florida to New England and everywhere in between. We need your help to continue our mission in saving the lives of companion animals until they all have a home
