911 Operators In Louisiana Will Now Be Screening Callers For Ebola
With the current Ebola problem in North Texas, the State of Louisiana is taking every precaution necessary to prevent Ebola becoming a problem here at home.
Now, when anyone dials 911 for an emergency in Louisiana, the 911 operator will ask the caller a series of questions pertaining to the virus before sending emergency medical technicians to the site where the caller is.
The caller will be asked questions about illnesses and recent travel history. That will determine of the EMTs have to wear protective gear in case it is an Ebola-like situation. If the caller answers "yes" enough times, Louisiana's epidemiology office will get involved.
