We asked you via our facebook fan page where the best place to go on a first date would be. Here's the list of places around Acadiana suggested by YOU. In no particular order...

First dates can sometimes lay the foundation for the rest of a relationship. So it's good to go on a first date that is going to mean something, that is fun, that is memorable. Whether it's a romantic date at a sushi restaurant, or a fun night out throwing a heavy ball down a slicked up lane toward some odd shaped wooden pins, here they are:

5 Best Places To Go On A First Date In Acadiana

(According to YOU)

5. Kart Ranch

Here's a place that has it all. A family friendly environment that can make you feel like a kid again. Everything from bumper boats, water wars, and go-karts to adventure golf, arcades and batting cages.

Kart Ranch opened in 1985 as a family owned and operated family entertainment center. We want each visit to be a wonderful experience and hope for all guests to share their experiences with friends. Our staff is trained to always think safety first and to provide the very best service, so we want to hear your feedback, as every guest is important to us. Kart Ranch is a smoke and alcohol free center.

4. Bowling

While there are several places around Acadiana to bowl, this seems like a pretty legit place to visit for a first date. You'll be able to chat with the person you're on a date with, and possibly teach them a little something on how to throw the perfect strike. There's several places around town to be the Kingpin. Just make sure you're a good date so you don't get Munson'd. Acadiana Lanes is located on Ambassador Caffery right next door to Hooter's. Lafayette Lanes isn't far down the road in the South College Shopping Center. If you're in the New Iberia area there's Bayou Pins on E. Main St. Fellas, here's a tip. Don't get your bowling shoes two sizes too big just to impress your date. All will not end well...on the bowling lane...or elsewhere.

3. Laser(Lazer) Tag

If you're the extremely competitive type this could be the perfect first date! Although it's dark on the inside, you'll still be able to compare scores, and talk after each match. Hint: Dudes, let the lady win. We're not really sure where there are any laser tag spots in Acadiana. If you know of some be sure to leave a comment and let everyone else know, cause this one came up quite a few times on facebook.

2. Sushi

loading...

I've only met a handful of people that don't care for sushi. Here you can show your sophisticated side by eating raw fish like a caveman! JK. That being said, OF COURSE this is a perfect first date!  It's usually low lit, sometimes candlelit, in sushi restaurants. You've got the romantic aspect covered. Very intimate, and your bellies will be full of delight! Sushi restaurants have popped up all over Acadiana. Tsunami is right downtown if you wanted to grab some drinks afterward. Other favorites include Sakura on Johnston. Shangri-La on Johnston, and Shinto on Ambassador Caffery and Tokyo Live on Pinhook  have the sushi and hibachi portions covered if you wanted to kick it up a notch. You can tell a lot about a woman by the kind of fish she eats!

1. Alesi's Pizza House

Out of all of the things to do for a first date, this one was mentioned the most in the comments section on facebook. Is it the food? Is it the atmosphere? Perhaps it's all of the above. A little lesson about Alesi's comes from Rene M. on Yelp:

"Mr. Alesi was the first man to introduce pizza to the Hub City back in 1957. This place has been in business over 50 years & with one bite of a works pizza, you'll know why.  All the pizzas are thin-crust, just the way I like it.
They have some of the best spaghetti I've ever had. The meat sauce takes the cake, but the wine sauce (meatless) is pretty spectacular as well.
If you're in the mood for a ribeye, Randy (head chef) aka: "Big T" will make you one of the best steaks you've ever had. Just don't order it well-done, okay? I heard it makes him sad and he cries a little bit inside.
If you're in the mood for dessert, have some of the Spumone. They import it from Angelo Brocato's in New Orleans, so you know it's good
Oh yeah, did I mention this place makes bacon pizzas? If you haven't tried one I implore you to make a visit to Lafayette landmark."

Sounds good to me!
