$40,000 Mega Millions Winner Sold in Louisiana

The lottery gods must have heard the pleas of one Louisiana lottery player this weekend. Perhaps that lottery player was shouting, "Throw Me Something Mister", when they purchased their Mega Millions lottery ticket for Friday night's drawing.

Even if they didn't offer that cliche' saying when they bought their tickets the lottery gods have certainly responded. The ticket which matched four of the white ball numbers, the Mega Ball, and had the Megaplier option included is worth $40,000 this morning.

There was no winner of the big Mega Millions Jackpot. That amount is estimated to be $55 million when the balls drop at 9:59 pm Louisiana time on Mardi Gras.

The winning ticket was sold in Convent Louisiana in St. James Parish. The ticket was purchased at the Sunshine Super Stop on LA 70. The holder of the winning ticket needs to make sure they have signed the back fo the ticket for their own safety. They will also need to contact the Louisiana Lottery offices to arrange payment for their winnings.
