‘Wonder Woman’ Trailer: Diana Fights the War to End All Wars
As promised yesterday, a new Wonder Woman trailer has arrived and it is PACKED with new footage — from Diana’s home world of Themyscira (aka Paradise Island, which sounds like Jimmy Buffet’s jam) to the deadly realm of man (aka Earth), there’s a whole lot to unpack in the latest sneak peek at Gal Gadot’s first solo movie. And since it doesn’t arrive until next summer, we have plenty of time to take it all in.
It is a little strange that Warner Bros. has released so much footage from the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, which doesn’t hit theaters until next June. Then again, it’s hard to complain when the footage looks so exciting. The latest trailer is far more kinetic and, well, eventful than the previous sneak peeks, and gives us a better idea of how Diana’s peaceful world clashes with our own. Splitting its time between the gorgeous realm of Paradise Island and the dreary planet known as Earth, the trailer shows us how the noble warrior hero finds herself mixed up in what Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor calls “the war to end all wars” — pretty sure she’s going to put an end to that, right?
As an added bonus, WB has released three new posters for the upcoming film, which you can view in the gallery below.
Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
Wonder Woman also stars Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Connie Nielsen, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner and Elena Anaya, and hits theaters on June 2, 2017.
