Woman Reports Car Stolen While Being Chased By Police

It's amazing how stupid some people can be. A Clinton, Iowa woman was caught speeding by a local sheriff deputy. When he tried to pull her over, she fled. 20 year old Rachel Thornburg called 911 during the chase, and reported her vehicle stolen. She was driving a 21 year old Buick. Police interceptors are fast cars, and highway patrolmen are presumably much more skilled drivers than Miss Thornburg.

That ultimately proved to be the case. She did, however, lead officers a merry chase. Thornburg ran a couple stop signs, and crossed county lines before her tires were ultimately flattened by spike strips placed in the road by deputies. She faces charges of eluding, reckless driving, speeding, and driving with a suspended license.
