The weather forecast for Mardi Gras day already told us that there will be a 60 to 70% chance of precipitation and that it will be cold. Now a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Mardi Gras day.

Well here we go again, although this won't be a crippling event, for goodness sake it's Mardi Gras! A "Winter Weather Advisory" is in effect for most of Acadiana for freezing rain/mixed with sleet early morning hours through midday Tuesday (when temperatures get above freezing). Rain chances near 70-80% from 7:00am through about 2:00pm...temperatures start in the lower 30s & will top out near 40 tomorrow afternoon. There will be the possibility of a few icy spots tomorrow morning mainly north of the i-10 Parishes....this the "advisory". Here's the NWS briefing & look for a full update on KATC at 5, 6 & 10pm.
