Washed Marijuana Leads To Youngsville Woman’s Arrest
I am pretty sure that at some point in your life you've left something in your pants pocket or the pocket of your shirt and that something was washed with your laundry. Most of the time a washday faux pas only leads to bits of lint in your laundry or a wadded up unrecognizable piece of paper.
However, in a story reported by police out of Florida, a washday mishap has led to the arrest of a Youngsville woman.
According to a report from the Pensacola New Journal Newspaper, Ashley Perkins of Youngsville was arrested and charged with aggravated battery. Law enforcement officials in Navarre Beach alleged that Perkins beat her spouse with a bedpost after it was discovered that the spouse had apparently washed a small amount of marijuana in the washing machine.
Perkins was released from custody on Thursday after charges were brought against her and a $25,000 bond was posted. Perkins allegedly told police that her spouse sustained the injuries from the bedpost after "rolling around on it while sleeping". Police determined that the spouse's injuries were not consistent with that story.
