Local Workshop That’ll Help You Be In The Movies
The Moving Image Arts program at the University of Louisiana and LEDA are hosting a half-day casting and audition workshop with Emmy-Award winning casting director, Junie Lowry Johnson. Ms. Johnson's casting credits include: True Blood, The Killing, Desperate Housewives and Big Love, among many other television series and films.
The first hour will feature discussion about the role of a casting director and Q&A. The second half of the seminar will be a hands-on audition workshop with Ms. Johnson offering one-on-one critiques. Scripts will be provided at the workshop.
This seminar is open to those interested in learning more about the role of a casting director and the audition process and actors of all experience levels.

Following the Casting and Audition Workshop is a seminar on film production basics with Bill Johnson. Mr. Johnson served as executive producer for Secretariat and Dreamer (both filmed in Acadiana), I Love You Man, and the recently-wrapped Contraband, starring Mark Wahlberg.
Mr. Johnson will walk participants through the film production process-- from script selection and budgeting, to location scouting, to the different jobs on a film set and much more!
This seminar is open to students and any individual interested in learning more about film production and Acadiana's growing film industry.
