Vehicle Hit By Amtrak Train Near Pinhook On Lafayette

UPDATE - Reports are the driver of an SUV ignored the train warning signals on Pinhook Road.

Lafayette Police spokesman Cpl. Paul Mouton said the driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. No injuries were reported by anyone on the train.

KATC is reporting an Amtrak train has struck a vehicle on the tracks near Pinhook in Lafayette.

The accident is on Pinhook Road in Lafayette, near the Evangeline Thruway. There's no word on extent of injuries, if any.
