UL Lafayette President On Funding Concerns, Moving Forward
UL Lafayette President Dr. Joseph Savoie says he's moving forward with University operations even as the special session gets underway today. He told KPEL News that he's keeping track of higher education funding, but it's not stopping UL Lafayette from moving forward with new programs and initiatives.
A budget passed by the Senate and the House last week fully funded the Department of Health and higher education. That budget was vetoed by Governor John Bel Edwards. The Governor is due to give an address at UL Lafayette today at 1:00 PM.
