What does the weather forecast look like for Saturday in Acadiana, as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns open up their 2017 regular schedule, playing host to the Southeastern Louisiana Lions at Cajun Field?

Well, while it's not what anyone would describe as football weather, considering that we were worried about the effects of Hurricane Harvey earlier in the week, after a wet month of August, the forecast for the annual Herbert Heymann Football Classic looks pretty good.

It's the first Saturday of September in the Acadiana area, so obviously, it's going to be hot.

Temperatures should be in the mid-80's when a lot of Cajun fans are tailgating during the noon hour, with the high expected to top out right around 88 degrees.

Temperature at 6 o'clock, which is kickoff time, will be approximately 84, and will drop to 82 at 7 pm, 78 by 8 pm, and 77 by 9 pm.

It is going to be hot and humid, so remember to stay hydrated throughout the day.

The good news is that there is only a slight 20% chance of rain in the forecast, which will drop to 10% by game time.

No not perfect, but we'll take it.

Enjoy the game!
