James Cameron and ‘Arrow’ Boss Eye ‘True Lies’ TV Reboot at FOX
As if we needed further reason to contemplate Jamie Lee Curtis’ body of work today, True Lies is making its own return. The fan-favorite James Cameron-Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle will get the TV treatment with Arrow boss Marc Guggenheim, and Cameron eyed to produce.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, FOX has given out a put-pilot commitment to reboot Cameron’s 1994 action-comedy, setting Arrow co-creator and EP Guggenheim to write the script. Cameron will executive produce, while McG will direct the pilot, which follows the basic outline of a suburban couple coming to grips with one of them being outed as a spy. For Guggenheim’s part, the prolific writer will continue work on Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow (as well as Netflix’s Trollhunters), but exited an overall deal with Warner Bros. TV.
The original 1994 film grossed over $378.8 million worldwide, and also starred Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Arnold, Bill Paxton, Eliza Dushku and Charlton Heston. You can watch the original trailer below, and stay tuned for more news of the FOX TV reboot.
