Total Lunar Eclipse Coming Up on September 27 and 28
The 4th Lunar eclipse in 2 years, a 'tetrad', will take place on September 27th and 28th, and can be seen all around the world. A total lunar eclipse is also known as a 'Blood Moon' because it looks red, and 'tetrad' is a string of four lunar eclipses occurring every six months - definitely something to be on the lookout for!
This will also be a 'Supermoon' eclipse, which means that the combination of a supermoon and a total lunar eclipse will make the moon the brightest, and darkest, in 2015. According to NASA, it will be the “closest full moon of the year.” By the way, this is the first Supermoon Eclipse since 1982, and we won't see another one until 2033.
